Moncton High Sports Complex
In 2019, the Glenn Group was awarded the Moncton High School Artificial Turf project by the City of Moncton, in partnership with the Province of New Brunswick. The objective was to design a multi-purpose sports field that met FIFA certification standards. The project replaced an existing natural turf field and was primarily intended for football.
The field’s features include a 700-person bleacher, a field lighting system, fencing, entry gates, pathways, and landscaping. Provisions were also made for future additions, such as an elevated press box and canteen. Additional amenities include parking for food trucks, a stormwater detention system, a secure maintenance compound, sound system enhancements, and a Wi-Fi booster.
Designing a field and its associated amenities within the $2,000,000 budget presented a significant challenge. Robust drainage solutions were essential to ensure the field remained playable in spring and fall conditions while managing stormwater for slow release into existing drainage swales. Despite the complexity, the project was delivered on time and within budget. Community fundraising efforts allowed for the inclusion of several optional features, further enhancing the facility’s functionality and appeal.
