A shortage of playing fields was the key directive of a recreation steering committee and the school district. A long range plan was prepared to address the shortage. The first phase received over $1,000,000 in funding for the construction of two new all-purpose playfields and the renovation of the existing. The new fields are irrigated and capable of supporting future lights. A significant challenge at the site is the shallow, irregular bedrock and undulating topography. Two additional fields, parking, a clubhouse and trails are planned for the future.
