Dominion Park

Glenn Group was instrumental in developing the user group and working with the City to establish and meet the project's initial goals for Dominion Park. This work represents the first phase of an insurance-restoration project that replaced existing infrastructure damaged by tidal activity, with the new building placed in a more climate-resilient location to protect against future storm and tidal impacts.

The first phase delivers a fully accessible washroom building and canteen alongside an accessible beach boardwalk that opens the shoreline to everyone. The boardwalk uses a removable fibreglass system engineered for durability and a long service life, standing up to the coastal environment while allowing seasonal removal. Additional infrastructure was incorporated throughout to accommodate future phases, ensuring the site is ready to grow.

A comprehensive master plan was completed for the full build-out of the site. It envisions an accessible, themed playground that incorporates historical elements, upgraded parking, and a boat launch, along with accessible trails and a shaded community gathering area featuring hammocks and unique seating — a welcoming, resilient waterfront park for the whole community.
